The third and final part of the 2026 Fantasia International Film Festival line-up was revealed today, along with the news that the festival will open with Nicolas Winding Refn's eagerly-anticipated thriller Her Private Hell. The Dasnish director will be a recipient of this year's Cheval Noir Career Award, along with Takashi Shimizu, the man behind The Grudge and Kiki's Delivery Service.

The largest line-up in the festival's 30-year history includes newly announced titles such as Kiyoshi Kurosawa's period piece The Samurai And The Prisoner, Eriko Katagiri's unlikely werewolf tale When You Open The Door, and Mark Rapaport's religious indoctrination fable Godhead. 2020 Korean festival hit Beasts Clutching At Straws will get its North American première, while this year's Cannes comedy Blaise gets a chance to acquire some Canadian fans.

The festival runs from 16 July to 2 August and will close with Zach Lipovsky and Adam B Stein's Freaks Part II. As always, we will be bringing you extensive coverage here at Eye For Film.
