Anthony Head, the film and television actor much loved by fans for his work in Buffy The Vampire Slayer and Ted Lasso, has died at the age of 72. He suffered complications after contracting pneumonia, just six months after the death of his partner, Sarah Fisher.
Although best known for his small screen work, the London-born star also contributed his talents to a number of films, such as A Prayer For The Dying, Repo! The Genetic Opera, The Iron Lady, A Street Cat Named Bob and Percy Jackson: Sea Of Monsters. His recent work included School's Out Forever and Let The Wrong One In.
Known for his distinctive baritone, Head also made a number of records. His extensive charity work included serving as an ambassador for Battersea Dogs and Cats home. Onscreen, he was known for his dry wit and frequently self-deprecating humour, which endeared him to viewers.
He is survived by his two daughters, the actors Emily Head and Daisy Head.
