George Clooney injured in motorbike crash

Actor briefly hospitalised in Sardinia

George Clooney was taken to hospital today after his motorbike collided with a car near the Costa Corallina. The actor, who is understood to have received minor injuries to his knee, was immediately discharged after treatment.

Clooney, 57, has been staying on the island during the filming of mini-series Catch-22, in which he stars with Hugh Laurie and Christopher Abbott. He had recently left his hotel when the accident took place at an intersection at around 8am. No-one else is believed to have been hurt.
