EIFF 2000: Day 12

Music, Maestro

by Trinity

Music was the theme of the day with Carter Burwell proving that he's not only a brilliant composer, but that he can make an audience laugh.

Starting off by saying that "film is now what opera was 100 years ago", he went on to reveal that he was originally an animator, hated working with David O' Russell, and got acting tips from Anthony Perkins.

Burwell provided the music for the surprise movie, Hamlet - I wonder if he knew it was being played?

Continuing onwards, one of the parties tonight was at trendy cafe/bar Iguana celebrating the Mirrorball section devoted to cutting edge video, including many music promos. Naturally, all the coolest people were boozing, schmoozing and cruising. Now where can I get myself a pair of shades like those?
