Christopher Hampton to head PÖFF Jury

Myriam Sassine, David Stump, Julie Billy and Tiina Tauraite join Oscar-winner

Oscar-Winner Sir Christopher Hampton will lead the Official Competition Jury for Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival's (PÖFF) 30th edition.

The screenwriter, who has won Best Adapted Screenplay Academy Awards for Dangerous Liaisons and The Father, will be joined by Lebanese producer Myriam Sassine, American cinematographer and visual effects specialist David Stump, French producer Julie Billy and Estonian actress Tiina Tauraite.

Sassine's credits include Costa Brava, Lebanon and Dancing On The Edge Of A Volcano and she also curates AFLAMUNA Connection and leads Tatino Films’ Full Circle Lab Nouvelle-Aquitaine Hessen. Stump's credits include Breaking Bad and Quantum Of Solace.

Paris-based Billy, founded June Films in 2020, with her recent productions including Hafsia Herzi's Cannes Queer Palm winner The Little Sister. Tauraite's films include Autumn Ball, The Temptation of St. Tony and The Spy and the Poet. Her performance in 8 Views of Lake Biwa earned her Estonia’s Best Actress award in 2025.

The Official Competition films will be announced on 7 October and the festival will run from November 6 to 22.
