Stephen Carty

Stephen credits his family with his deep-rooted love (obsession) for movies and TV. His Dad introduced him to James Bond (not literally), his Mum used to take him to work when she worked in a video shop and sat him on the counter, his Grandad explained that there's often more going on in a movie than meets the eye (with Manhunter as example), his Gran let him watch a film every day at lunch and his Auntie shared her passion for Tom Cruise. As for his Uncle, he got him into a certain friendly neighborhood web-slinger via some old comics...

In terms of genre, Stephen loves crime thrillers and gangster flicks, comic book adaptations (even though most dissapoint) and Sci-fi. Director-wise he loves (worships) Christopher Nolan, admires Bryan Singer and wishes Michael Bay would do more than just blow things up with CGI at sunset. His area of expertise? That would be Bond, James Bond...

He can currently be found keeping tabs on 24 different TV series - although, ironically, 24 isn't one of them - including Lost (genius), Entourage (endlessly enjoyable), House MD (better than it should be), Heroes (totally lost it), Smallville (jumped the shark), Spooks (gone downhill), BSG (rest in peace) and many more.

Stephen is a member of the Online Film Critics Society.
