Human remains were found on California's Mount Baldy, near the area where actor Julian Sands went missing in January, according to the San Bernardino Sheriff's Department. They were discovered at around 10am local time on Saturday, by hikers who reported them to Fontana Sheriff's Station. With the aid of deputies and emergency operations personnel, they were recovered and transported to the San Bernardino Coroner's Office. Determining who they belong to is expected to take around a week.

"We continue to hold Julian in our hearts with bright memories of him as a wonderful father, husband, explorer, lover of the natural world and the arts, and as an original and collaborative performer," said the star's family on Friday, again expressing their gratitude to all those who have been searching the mountain.
