Hollywood-set whodunnit See How They Run is to open this year's Glasgow Youth Film Festival, it was announced today. The film, which stars Adrien Brody, Sam Rockwell and Saoirse Ronan, is part of a line-up co-programmed by Glasgow Film and GYFF Young Programmers aged 15-19.

Special guests at the festival will include directors Paul Morris (Angry Young Men) and Kim Hopkins (A Bunch Of Amateurs), producer Margareta Szabo, fashion academic Casci Richie and screenwriter Niamh McCowan. There will be a series of workshops run by Behind the Scenes Labs in Association with BFI Film Academy, focused on developing skills from screenwriting to cinematography and scoring films. It will close with a special screening of Baz Luhrmann's Moulin Rouge!

"Our Young Programmers have done a wonderful job of curating a programme of exciting screenings and events that reflect their themes of 'community and connectivity', 'authenticity of storytelling' and 'films we wish we’d seen in the cinema'," said Glasgow Film's Learning and Youth Engagement Manager, Rebecca McSheaffrey-Craig.

The festival will run from 16 to 18 September and we will be bringing you coverage here at Eye For Film.
