Free events added to NYFF line-up

Ben Barenholtz tribute and Lynne Ramsay screening scheduled

Two free events have been added to the 57th New York Film Festival - a tribute to producer Ben Barenholtz (Joel Coen and Ethan Coen’s Miller's Crossing, Barton Fink, Darren Aronofsky’s Requiem For A Dream, J Todd Anderson’s The Naked Man, co-written by Ethan Coen) who died on June 26, 2019, with Eamonn Bowles, Ethan Coen, and John Turturro, moderated by Annette Insdorf; and a screening of Lynne Ramsay’s Brigitte, commissioned by Miu Miu, followed by a Q&A with Ramsay and Brigitte Lacombe.

Free conversations with Jean-Pierre Dardenne and Luc Dardenne on Young Ahmed; Nadav Lapid on Synonyms; producers Emma Tillinger Koskoff (The Irishman, Joker, The Wolf Of Wall Street) and David Hinojosa (First Reformed, Vox Lux, Beatriz At Dinner); Ric Burns (Oliver Sacks: His Own Life), Tania Cypriano (Born To Be), Ivy Meeropol (Bully. Coward. Victim. The Story of Roy Cohn), and Lynn Novick (College Behind Bars) moderated by Film at Lincoln Center’s Executive Director Lesli Klainberg; Michael Apted on 63 UP; Josh Safdie and Benny Safdie on Making Uncut Gems, and Kelly Reichardt (Old Joy, Wendy And Lucy, Certain Women) on First Cow are among the NYFF Live events scheduled.

NYFF Live is organised by Film at Lincoln Center Deputy Director Eugene Hernandez.

Free tickets to NYFF Live events will be distributed at the Elinor Bunin Munroe Film Center box office (144 West 65th Street, between Broadway and Amsterdam) on a first-come, first-served basis starting one hour prior to the talks. Limit one ticket per person, subject to availability.

The 2019 New York Film Festival runs through October 13.
