Oppenheimer is in the lead again with this year's BAFTA nominations announced today, but its 13 nods put it only two ahead of Yorgos Lanthimos' Alasdair Gray adaptation Poor Things. Meanwhile, Anatomy Of A Fall continued to make a strong showing in the non-English language contingent, with six nominations including one for Best Picture - having also received a Best Picture nomination in the OFCS Award nominations which were announced last night.

Reactions have been coming in from the nominated filmmakers. "I'm thrilled to receive my first BAFTA nomination for Society Of The Snow!" said director JA Bayona. "Thank you so much to BAFTA. This story is about people coming together to face the biggest challenge of their lives. Our cast and crew also did the impossible to honour their memory. Time to toast all our friends and colleagues in Spain, Uruguay, Argentina and Chile."

"It’s hard to imagine that a year ago, when editing the film, it would take us on this incredible journey," said Molly Manning Walker, writer and director of How to Have Sex. "It has been nothing short of a dream. I’m so proud of our cast and crew. I feel particularly emotional about sharing this moment with other filmmaker friends. A special shout out to Charlotte and my Scrapper family."

The BAFTAS will be presented on 18 February at a star-studded event to be hosted by David Tennant.
