12 Years A Slave has taken pole position at the Screen Actors' Guild awards with nominations in four major acting categories, it emerged today. These awards are often the ones most highly valued by actors themselves, as they are selected by their peers.

The awards will be presented at the Shrine Auditorium & Exposition Center in Los Angeles on 18 January.
