This year's Golden Eddie nominations were announced yesterday, and it's a list that will please action fans, with titles like Civil War, Dune: Part Two and Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga all grabbing voter attention. The awards, which celebrate the important role played by editors in shaping the films we love, are judged by members of the American Cinema Editors (ACE) society - people who really know what they're talking about.

In addition to the main awards, Maysie Hoy, ACE and Paul Hirsch, ACE will receive Career Achievement Awards for their outstanding contributions to film editing, and Jon M Chu will receive the ACE Golden Eddie Filmmaker of the Year Award in recognition of his distinguished achievement in the art and business of film.

The winners will be announced at a ceremony in Los Angeles on 18 January 2025.
