Cinematographer Robert Richardson also will make the journey to the Bohemian spa town where Maggie Gyllenhaal and Jesse Eisenberg already have confirmed their attendance at the event which opens in ten days on 3 July and runs until 11 July.
Married couple Bacon and Sedgwick will bring their ironically titled Family Movie in the company of their children Sosie and Travis, who co-star and produced the horror comedy along with their parents. Bacon has called the film “our love letter to horror, to independent film and most of all family”.
The Festival’s opening film will be The Match, which tells of the iconic "Hand of God" match between Argentina and England which was played at the Azteca Stadium during the 1986 Football World Cup and features rare archival footage of the legendary Maradona. The documentary is narrated by soccer legends Gary Lineker and Jorge Valdano and was presented earlier this year in the Cannes Premiere section of the Cannes Film Festival. Directed by Juan Cabral and Santiago Franco the film sifts more than 200 years ears of tension, encounters and conflict between the two nations including the Falklands conflict.

Juliette Binoche will be similarly honoured with a Crystal Globe at the Festival’s closing ceremony and during the course of the event three films will be shown: Certified Copy (2010), Three Colours: Blue (1993) and last year’s In-I in Motion, a documentary account of her 2008 stage collaboration with British dancer and choreographer Akram Khan.
The Festival’s President’s Award will go to Jeffrey Wright, who came to the Festival in 1996 to present Basquiat which also will be screened as part of the programme.
Keitel, who has been a festival regular over the years, and already has received a Crystal Globe, will attend screenings of one of his breakthrough films, Mean Streets by Martin Scorsese.
The festival’s opening ceremonies always have proved memorable, and this year’s promises to be no exception with what is described as “a unique musical programme, created specifically for this occasion by DJ and producer NobodyListen.” The evening will unite leading personalities from the contemporary Czech music scene spanning a range of genres and generations.
The Karlovy Vary International Film Festival runs from 3 to 11 July.
