The first major set of nominations of the year were announced today, with Sean Baker's tale of troubled fairytale romance, Anora, leading the pack. I Saw The TV Glow, The Brutalist and The Fire Inside also made an impression in what was otherwise a wide open field. It's the first indication of which titles might make it to the Oscars in 2025.

"We are proud to announce the nominees for The Gothams, selected by nominating committees who bring their independent perspective to the selection process," said Gotham Film & Media Institute executive director. Jeffrey Sharp. "This year's nominations celebrate voices from across the globe, embodying the growing embrace of international cinema by audiences everywhere."

The winners will be announced on 2 December in a special ceremony at Cipriani Wall Street in New York City.
