Bong Joon-ho's Parasite picked up another big award last night, winning the coveted Best Cast prize at the Screen Actors Guild (SAG) awards. The ceremony, which was held at the Los Angeles Shrine Auditorium & Expo Hall, was followed by a charity gala in aid of the SAG-AFTRA Foundation’s Assistance Programs, which support actors who suffer from catastrophic illness or injury or need emergency financial assistance.

Voted on exclusively by actors themselves, the awards are highly valued as a form of peer recognition. This year also saw Joaquim Phoenix pick up the Best Actor statuette for his work in Joker, while Renée Zellweger won Best Actress for her portrayal of the legendary Ms Garland in Judy. Brad Pitt was named Best Supporting Actor for Once Upon A Time… In Hollywood and Best Supporting Actress went to Laura Dern for Marriage Story.

The award for Outstanding Action Performance by a Stunt Ensemble in a Motion Picture went to fan favourite Avengers: Endgame, while Robert De Niro received a Lifetime Achievement Award.
