Yang Jinmo received the coveted award for Best Feature Film (Drama) at the 70th annual Eddie awards last night, in recognition of his editing work on Bong Joon-ho's Parasite. No film not in the English language has ever received this prize before. Meanwhile, Tom Eagles took the Comedy award for Jojo Rabbit.

Voted for by the American Cinema Editors society, the Eddies are the foremost awards for editing. This year's ceremony was held in the International Ballroom of the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Los Angeles, with the organisation's president, Stephen Rivkin, presiding. It saw the award for Best Documentary go to Apollo 11, which is constructed from restored archive footage, while Toy Story 4 won Best Animated Feature.

Lauren Shuler Donner received the prestigious Golden Eddie in recognition of the excellent work in many of the films she has produced over the years, which have included Pretty In Pink, X-Men and Deadpool. There was also a Heritage Award for Cathy Repola, the National Executive Director of the Motion Picture Editors Guild, in recognition of her contributions to advancing the image of the film editor and cultivating respect for the editing profession, and her years of commitment to the society.
