Fan power too much for Iron Man

Would-be superhero thwarted in Aberdeen robbery attempt.

Tony Stark probably wouldn't be seen dead in a shiny blue hoodie but that's what was worn by his would-be double when he tried to rob a shop in Aberdeen yesterday. The slim young man behind the distinctive Iron Man mask was armed with a knife but hadn't counted on the presence of a 44 year old shop worker wielding an electric fan. Faced with more fight than he'd been expecting, he fled into the night.

The attempted robbery, which took place at Roslin Stores on the city's Urquhart Road, was captured on CCTV. Police are appealing for witnesses who may have seen the attacker entering the shop of running towards the city centre afterwards.
