Partner of Sian Blake arrested in Ghana

Arthur Simpson-Kent suspected of murder.

by Jennie Kermode

Three days after the bodies of actress Sian Blake and her two children, Zachary and Amon, were found in the garden of their family home, Blake's partner, Arthur Simpson-Kent, has been arrested in Ghana.

Arriving at Kotoko Airport on the 19th of December, Simpson-Kent was reported to the police by neighbours who had seen his picture on social media. He was arrested on a nearby beach and is being detained while officers from the Metropolitan Police work with local detectives and members of Interpol. Although in possession of a knife when captured, he did not resist arrest.

Police previously interviewed Simpson-Kent on the 16th of December after the NSPCC raised concerns about the children. Blake's sister Ava said that she believed the actress had wanted to leave her partner for some time and, if guilty, would have to answer to God for his actions. Every week, two women are killed by their partners in England and Wales.
