Times may be tough for the UK's museums and galleries but the London Film Museum is bucking the trend, announcing the opening of a brand new exhibition space. Set in the refurbished Flower Cellars on Wellington Street in Covent Garden, it will start welcoming visitors on April 21 with the launch of a photographic exhibition.

Magnum on Set focuses on the iconic work of film industry photographers, and will showcase some of their original equipment alongside famous images. Classic shots from The Seven Year Itch and Rebel Without A Cause will be on display in all their glory and there will also be a chance to see props and costumes from these and other much-loved films.

"We are proud to be opening our latest Museum in Covent Garden together with this iconic exhibition which celebrates the careers of some of the greatest photographers of all time," said the museum's chief executive, Jonathan Sands. "We are delighted that we are able to continue to promote the Film Industry to a wider audience in this fun and artistic way."
