The Thessaloniki International Film Festival has announced that French star Isabelle Huppert will be its guest of honour for its 66th edition.

The festival will showcase 15 films which "display her outstanding ability for inner transformation for the sake of every role, while maintaining a solid acting identity".

Over four days at the Greek festival she will attend talks, screenings and events. On November 4 she will take part in a master class titled “From Screen to Stage”, delving into the differences and similarities in acting techniques between cinema and theater, moderated by the renowned Greek writer Ersi Sotiropoulou. In addition, the iconic actress will preface several of the tribute’s films, while also presenting the witty comedy Copacabana (2010) by Marc Fitoussi, along with her daughter and co-star in the film, Lolita Chammah.

The films selected illustrate the breadth of the star's talent, ranging from Paul Verhoeven's psychological exploration of survival and revenge Elle to François Ozon's quirky murder mystery musical 8 Women and Michael Haneke's tale of infatuation The Piano Teacher. She will also present a screening of her recent film, Thierry Klifa's political drama The Richest Woman In The World.
