by Amber Wilkinson

B.TWEEN 06 Interactive Media Forum will this year feature a line up of over 30 expert speakers from the world of digital, mobile and new media development.

The forum is hosted by the National Museum of Photography, Film and Television in Bradford on 25-26th May and later in the year, they are also set to announce a new development strategy designed to keep the Museum relevant and useful in the 21st century.

B.TWEEN 06 is designed to give insights into future trends and offer practical support and advice for creative content makers It's a rare opportunity for creatives, commissioners and investors to build collaborations and to see how the digital will affect the media industry.

Lord David Puttnam - whose films include The Mission, The Killing Fields and Local Hero - will launch the two-day forum.

In his opening keynote speech, he will explore how users of the "old technologies" can explore the creative potential of new technology.

Robbie Stamp - executive of The Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy - has moved from the digital arena into filmmaking for cinematic release. Formerly, he was Douglas Adams' partner in the Digital Village, inventors of DNA (the software that now runs all of BBC's community building projects) and the real world Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy, H2G2.

will talk about the evolution of the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy phenomenon from radio series, through book, TV, computer game, via the odd towel to Feature film and the 'real edition' of the Guide created by researchers from all over the world at h2g2.

Michela Ledwidge, founder of MOD films, is in the process of making a high production movie that can either be projected in a cinema or remixed by online users to create their very own film. Every element of the Sanctuary production has been cleared for future re-use, from concept art through to professional cast performances. This is a world first truly remixable film and Michela will talk about the experience.

Liz Rosenthal, an experienced film producer will talk about how new digital tools give filmmakers powerful new ways of expanding the reach, revenues, and impact of their films, allowing them to develop core audiences for their work on a global scale. No longer willing to give complete control to traditional distributors, filmmakers are taking charge of the distribution of their films, inventing new personalised ways to target audiences directly and effectively.
