The Hurt Locker named best film by OFCS

Kathryn Bigelow's drama takes home four gongs.

Kathryn Bigelow's war drama The Hurt Locker took the top award in the 13th annual Online Film Critics Society Awards.

The Iraq-set film about bomb disposal experts, explosives beat off competition from Inglourious Basterds, A Serious Man, Up, and Up in the Air to be named best film.

Bigelow was also named best director, while star Jeremy Renner was declared best actor and Chirs Innis and Bob Murawski took home the prize for best editing.

Quentin Tarantino's Inglourious Basterds also snared four awards, with Melanie Lauret being named best actress, Christoph Waltz crowned best supporting actor, Tarantino honoured for original screenplay and Robert Richardson named best cinematograper.

Wes Anderson won the award for best adapted screenplay for his animated take on Roald Dahl's Fantastic Mr Fox, while Pixar's Up was named best animated feature.

Completing the awards set, were Mo'Nique - named best supporting actress for her performance in Precious, Sacha Gervasi's Anvil!: The Story of Anvil, which was named Best Documentary and Michael Haneke's The White Ribbonm, named best picture not in the English language.
