Scots mountaineering film festival urges professional and amateur filmmakers to submit work.

by Amber Wilkinson

Scotland's film festival celebrating mountaineering has put out a call for films.

Organisers are urging professional and amateur filmmakers to submit their work for consideration, as the festival gears up for its fourth anniversary in October.

Last year, more than 2000 outdoor enthusiasts gathered in Edinburgh for the three-day festival.

Festival director Steve Christie said: "There are no strict rules to the types of films we show, as long as they evoke the spirit of adventure.

We've previously shown films featuring skiing and snow-boarding, white-water kayaking, BASE-jumping, ski-mountaineering, mountain biking, as well as all disciplines of climbing.

Shorter films up to 15 minutes are especially welcome, and we're always on the look out for films which are a little bit different."

Entries must be submitted by July 16. For more details, visit www.edinburghmountainff.com
