The Winning Season added to Sundance line-up

Sam Rockwell vehicle to screen in Premieres section.

Sam Rockwell starrer, The Winning Season, has been added to the Sundance Film Festival 2009 line-up.

The film, directed by James C Strouse (Grace Is Gone, Lonesome Jim) will have its world premiere on January 19, and will screen in the festival's out of competition Premieres section.

The drama, about an adult misfit brought in to coach his local girl's high school basketball team als stars Emma Roberts, Rob Corddry, Shareeka Epps and Emily Rios.

Sundance Film Festival director Geoffrey Gilmore said: "We are thrilled to welcome back to the Festival Jim Strouse who once again displays his talent for storytelling in this superbly witty film.

"The Winning Season is a completely gratifying cinematic drama marked by sharp dialogue and perfectly toned performances."
