The festival was reborn in 2018 after a six-year hiatus under new festival director Eduardo Guillot. This year's festival opened with Valencian film M'esperas on October 18 and will close with its prize winners on October 28.

This year, the festival gave honorary awards to The Lobster and Dogtooth writer Efthymis Filippou and Blue Is The Warmest Colour director Abdellatif Kechiche. There were also homage sections dedicated to producer Josep Anton Perez Giner and filmmaker Carles Santos.

We'd like to thank Visit Valencia for helping to facilitate our attendance at the festival. You can read more about the city at visitvalencia.com
