New York State Governor Andrew M Cuomo introduced his daughter Mariah Kennedy Cuomo at the Stock Exchange Boardroom this morning to announce the winner of the Wear A Mask New York PSA open ad competition. There were over 600 video submissions in May and the five finalists were announced on May 23. The competition received 186,117 votes in less than seven days. The Governor was surprised to see that people from all over the world had sent in their ballots.

The winner is Celine Danhier and Aliya Naumoff’s We ❤ NY with animation by Mike Perry, produced by Bunny Lake Films. The runner up, with only 500 fewer votes, is You Can Still Smile by Natalia Bougadellis and Emory Parker of Blue Slate Films. Due to the closeness of the competition, the Governor announced an executive order that both videos will be shown as official New York State PSAs to help stop the spread of Covid-19.
