Coincide

A $10 note takes a journey through a urban landscape.

The note in question is handed to a young lad by a woman on a train, with the message: Call me. He seems a bit bored by the whole notion, and hands the cash over to a couple of street dancers when he disembarks. And so it goes, until the note finally returns to the forward lass in suitable circumstances.

This is two minutes of intense animated fun. The money's progress gives us a snapshot of city life while a techno (well, I think it's techno - rather old, here) and strings soundtrack complements the ever-shifting perspectives. The film's in colour but the abiding impression is of a harsh, black and white world, despite flashes of joie de vivre.

With rather sensual figurework and an impressive depth of field, this is an assured piece of work that left me wanting more.
