Presto
4 stars

Reviewed By: Andrew Robertson

Presto is the tale of a magician (the titular Presto DiGiotagione), and his rabbit Alec. Presto has a magic hat, Alec is the rabbit who is pulled out of it. A dispute about a carrot becomes grounds for a ruck between them, and it's an amusing one.

Rabbit versus magician may be an ancient and arcane struggle, but rarely has it been so kinetically depicted. The particular nature of Presto's magic hat (or rather hats), which work something like a cross between a portable hole and the real stars of Valve's videogame 'Portal', lends itself to slapstick; up is down, down is left, left is funny.
