Injured star posts gratitude from hospital bed

Jeremy Renner has thanked fans for their messages of support after he was run over by his own snow plough.

The Hurt Locker star shared a photo of himself from his hospital bed with his 18.9 million fans on Instagram.

He wrote: "Thank you all for your kind words. Im too messed up now to type. But I send love to you all."

The star was airlifted to hospital after the incident in Lake Tahoe, Nevada. His publicist said he suffered blunt chest trauma and orthopaedic injuries.
