Dolls Haus

This stop-motion animation was, apparently, put together by Danny Hammond from bits and pieces that he collected at car boot sales. It is more an exercise in the craft than any real effort at storytelling. However, even at the short runtime Hammond manages to create a sinister atmosphere.

A doll walks into a house and has a strange and surreal operation before leaving. The animation is competently rendered but there is little to elevate this above the pack. People such as Chris Shepherd and Pic Pic Andre are employing these sorts of techniques with much more imagination. That said, everyone has to start somewhere and Hammond's work - and imagination - clearly show potential.

Out to own as part of the Final Cut: Take Three DVD short film collection.
