A new day is dawning and a town slowly wakes. The milkman goes about his business, a rather too clean drunk slumps in a doorway and a young boy and girl wake up at home. Mum isn't interested, so they make merry and messy over breakfast in the kitchen. You just know this sort of fun won't last.

The direction works well to capture the children's excitement and both actors are great as kids for whom the most pressing thing in life is how many Krispies they can get in their cereal bowl. However, while the direction is good, the script lacks originality and the ending doesn't come as any great surprise.
