The biggest problem facing the DVD extras on any of the CSI franchise releases is that they are carved up for the UK audience, rather than being released as an entire season, as in the US.

This means, in the case of CSI Miami: 4.2, that all the really interesting extras were released on the 4.1 boxset, meaning that all this one has to offer are three, less than inspiring, featurettes about the making of the show.

They have been shot in a manner so stylised - using split screen on top of a raging sea orange 'background' - that it totally detracts from the filming. It covers a lot of similar ground about the process of making each episode as has been covered in other box sets of the franchise, but presents in much less appealing, unfortunately. Still, it's always nice to see the cast and crew chat about how they achieve as much as they do on such a tight deadline. Still no sign on the elusive Mr Caruso, though. Surely the day must be coming when they get at least a line or two from him to add to a DVD release?
