Three Marmalade Sandwiches

Three Marmalade Sandwiches

Cows attacking a milk truck is an odd occurence, especially when they are driving a tractor.

Henry Cruickshank's animation is full of these bizarre little jokes. What happens to frogs after French chefs have finished with them? They whizz about in wheelchairs, legless. There is one frog who thinks he has the answer - armour-plated trousers. They would deter the chefs's knives alright, but hopping is out of the question.

Heaven knows where the marmalade sandwiches come from, or what connection they have with animals who take the initiative, but it really doesn't matter, because the film is such fun.

Cruickshank's drawings may be idiosyncratic, but his sense of humour never loses its edge.
