Corey Feldman in hospital after stabbing

Actor says police are treating it as attempted murder

Goonies actor Corey Feldman is in hospital after a stabbing attack last night.

The actor tweeted photographs of himself in hospital, writing in block capitals: "I'M IN THE HOSPITAL! I WAS ATTACKED 2NITE! A MAN OPENED MY CAR DOOR & STABBED ME W SOMETHING! PLEASE SAY PRAYERS 4 US! THANK GOD IT WAS ONLY MYSELF & MY SECURITY IN THE CAR, WHEN 3 MEN APPROACHED! WHILE SECURITY WAS DISTRACTED, W A GUY A CAR PULLED UP & ATTACKED! I’M OK!"

He went on to say that he believes it was a "revenge attack" and that the Los Angeles police are investigating it as an attempted homicide.

He added in a follow-up tweet: "I HAVE HAD MOUNTING THREATS ON ALL SM PLATFORMS BY THIS VILE “WOLFPACK” & THIS I'M SURE IS A RESULT OF THOSE NEGATIVE ACTIONS! I HAVE REASON 2 BELIEVE ITS ALL CONNECTED! ENOUGH IS ENOUGH! HOW SICK R THESE PPL?!?"

The former child star - who also appeared in Stand By Me and Gremlins - launched a "truth campaign'" on Indiegogo last year which aimed to help raise funds for a documentary about child abuse in Hollywood and, on The Dr Oz Show in November, named a man he claims abused him. He alleges that he was sexually assaulted when he was 11 and that his Lost Boys co-star Cory Haim, who died of pneumonia in 2010, was raped.
