The DVD exhibits bold colours and excellent blacks with only a few appearances of edge enhancement. The Dolby 5.1 soundtrack delivers ace surround effects with an active.1 LFE channel throughout, although it's mostly the beat of a song, but there are some decent bass attacks when the football players smash into each other. This is a transfer that will surely please the fans of the movie but the cover art is disgusting.

An incredibly dull director commentary track is included, which I would skip, unless your sleeping pills aren't effective. A 15-minute HBO documentary shows us the actors talk superficially about their characters and is made up of about ten minutes of actual footage from the film. Ditto for the nine-minute "Making the Plays" documentary. I would give that a miss also. A trailer and a completely useless "cast and crew" are featured too.
