Read Gabriella Trybalska's film review of The Lost World

This DVD is considerably lacking in extras. Only two: a director's commentary and a 'Making of' documentary.

The commentary offers a useful insight into the difficulties of filming with blue screen. However, it does mean sitting through two-and-a-half hours of the movie for the staggering - as in motion - comments.

The half hour documentary provides a lot more interesting information about the movie, along with opinions from most of the main characters. There are also discussions about the difficulty of finding decent locations and other technical problems, such as - once again - the blue screen.

The sound and, in particular, the picture is spectacular, as you would expect from a film that was made a mere year ago.

Also, on a not completely unrelated matter, the DVD is available in a very fancy box, which almost looks like a book!!
