This mixed bag left me feeling a little underwhelmed by the numerous extra features included on the two-disc release.

The two Q&As, one in London with Ray in attendance and one in Paris, are the highlight, with the frankly dull 13-minute A Treasure Trove featurette being the low point. Almost a quarter of an hour of watching people unpack boxes of miniatures, however beautiful and nostalgic they may be, is not my idea of an interesting extra feature.

Further short interviews, out-takes and the feature A Message to Ray offer the chance to hear many more famous faces from the movie-world eulogise about Harryhausen, with varying degrees of insight. The package is rounded off with an extensive trailers collection, Super 8 footage from the set of The 7th Voyage Of Sinbad, deleted scenes, the trailer for the documentary and audio commentary by Gilles Penso, Alexandre Pancet, Tony Dalton and Tim Nicholson.
