Saved! is a blunt satire about born-again Christianity, which lacks the courage to make any incisive criticisms.

It stars Jena Malone, as Mary, who becomes an outcast at her Christian high school after doubting her faith. As a result, she is forced to join the school's other pariahs: a Jewish girl and a wheelchaired Macaulay Culkin.

According to the producer, the script went through "about 200 rewrites", which suggests that the film faced considerable opposition, which, perhaps, explains why the finished version is so toothless.
